Back for its eleventh instalment, For The Love Of House is Defected’s series collecting the classic house music records that have defined the genre over the past thirty years. Ranging from deep grooves to perennial floor-fillers, these seminal cuts from the label archives of Defected, Strictly Rhythm, 4th Floor, Salsoul and more sound as fresh today as when they first devastated dancefloors.
The audio company teamed up with online retailer Massdrop for a more affordable version of its HD 650. Sennheiser's HD 650 have been popular over-ear headphones among audiophiles since their debut over 10 years ago. At $500, the audio gear is priced just out of reach for people who were curious about high-end headphones, but didn't have a ton of extra cash to commit to the cause. However, they were widely regarded as some of the best headphones under $1,000. Thanks to a collaboration with online retailer Massdrop, Sennheiser has revived the HD 650 with the new $200 HD 6XX.
Soundtrap a cloud-based music and audio recording platform, has raised $6 million in Series A funding. Nordic VC firm Industrifonden led the round, with participation from an array of existing investors and other new backers, including Peter Sterky, former CFO and COO of Spotify. It brings total funding to $8.5 million. Perhaps comparable to a collaborative and multi-platform version of Apple’s GarageBand, Soundtrap lets you record music or things like podcasts and comes with its own software instruments and MIDI sequencer.
