As festival fever grips the nation, we caught up with some dance devotees to check out where they're heading to for 2010, what they'll be listening to at some of the world's top homegrown and overseas events, plus what they'll be wearing while they get well and truly spangled in the sunshine. The Silly Season is officially upon us; let hedonism commence!

Sebi, 26, Geoscientist from Kelheim, Germany.
Likes: Minimal Samba/Techno/House and "all good electronic music that makes you dance".
Festival CV: Sonne, Mond und Sterne, Green and Blue, Greenfields, Merkwürdiges Verhalten am Strand, Time Warp, Love Parade, Rave On Snow and Street Parade.

What festivals will you be heading to this year and why?
For sure I will go to Green and Blue in Frankfurt to see its new location, as it's always one of the best parties of the year. You'll find me at the Cocoon or Robert Johnson club to continue the party! I might check out Love Family Park also in Frankfurt and Merkwürdiges Verhalten. Love Family Park is great as it's right by the river.

I'll definitely be at Greenfields Open Air in Munich too as it's the biggest music festival in southern Germany and it attracts an international audience and is guaranteed to bring a touch of Ibiza with it.

What three artists are on your must-see list for 2010?
Sven Väth, Marco Corola Vs Loco Dice and Illario Alicante.

Club or festival?
Definitely festival as not only can you can experience the incredible energy of the crowd at its peak, but also be at one with nature and the world. For me, at Sonne Mond und Sterne festival you can enjoy one of the greatest and best experiences in the world, it's just like Ibiza.

What's in your essential festival kit?
Much fun, energy, love and craziness...

Festivals can often be fancy dress themed, what has your most outrageous costume been?
I'm outrageous enough, I don't need to dress-up.

Sharon, 34, Finance Controller from London, England.
Likes: Dance, Trance, House and Electro plus various Indie bands, Rock and generally a bit of everything.
Festival CV: Glastonbury, Glastonbury, Glastonbury and more Glastonbury plus Creamfields, Homelands, Benicassim, Reading, O2 Wireless and SW4.

What festivals will you be heading to this year and why?
I'll be heading to Glastonbury and The Burning Man festival in the Nevada dessert. I am pushing my boundaries this year by trying something new and have only heard fantastic things about Burning Man.

Who are your favourite dance artists or DJs?
I am a trance fan at heart so I love DJs like Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk but I also love a bit of breaks, so can often be found listening to Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs or something similar.

Who are the acts on your must-see list this year?
Orbital, LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip. Then there's Muse, Pendulum and Tiesto...er, slightly more than three!

What do you love about festival fashion?
I love how people dress, you can either go as crazy as you want and stand out or keep it low key. I do think people take the time to look good but it doesn't have to take hours to look stylish. A classic cowboy hat or boots encapsulates the festival look. I love that everyone at Bestival dresses up; so much so, you almost look out of place if you haven't.

Some women invest in an entire new wardrobe pre-festival. How much planning goes into your look?
I have to admit, I do go shopping the week before but I always buy things I can wear again. This year I'm on the hunt for some cool floral print Wellington boots.

What one thing wouldn't you wear?
I definitely wouldn't wear heels. Why on earth would you do that?

How does the fashion differ from one festival to the next?
I think it can depend on the location or the music. At Benicassim a few years ago, it was all about simplicity with bikini tops and shorts or a skirt. At other events like Roskilde where the music is heavier, it's maybe more about sticking to jeans and boots, but then everyone has their own idea about what is cool.

Favourite festival moment?
Coming over the hill at my first Glastonbury in 2002 and seeing just how big it was. It still gives me goose pimples. I was sold on Glastonbury even before I got through the gate. I saw Faithless that year on the Pyramid stage - amazing! The crowd went crazy when Insomnia came on and it's something I won't forget.

Eva, 26, Digital Music Manager from Bristol, England.
Likes: electronic music, house, techno, dubstep, hip-hop, breaks, drum and bass, and as she describes herself; "noisey guitar based stuff".
Festival CV: Bloc Weekend, Bestival, Glade, Glastonbury, Field Day, All Tomorrow's Parties, Primavera, Sonar, Exit, Creamfields, Global Gathering, Secret Garden Party, Green Man, Dot To Dot and many more.

What festivals will you be heading to this year and why?
I've already been to my first festival of the year, which was Bloc Weekend at Butlins Minehead. At the end of May, I'm heading to Barcelona for Primavera Sound then in June I'm going to Glastonbury. July is Glade and I'll try and get to Secret Garden Party too.

What are you listening to at the moment?
I currently love Four Tet, Flying Lotus, Moderat, Mount Kimbie, Nosaj Thing, Fuck Buttons, Kelpe, Toddla T, Carl Craig and Rob Smith.

Who are the three acts on your must-watch list for 2010?
Moderat at Primavera, Orbital and Mos Def at Glastonbury.

How does people's dress differ from one festival to another?
At Glastonbury, anything goes and at Spanish festivals, you seen a lot of Harem Pants and ‘Spullet' - the Spanish mullet! At Glade, you can spot the Psy-Trance fans miles off (Poi anyone?) and at Bestival, a lot of people like to stay in their fancy dress all weekend.

On the theme of dressing up, what has been your most outrageous costume?
At Bestival 2008 the theme was ‘Under The Sea' so two friends and myself went as ‘Public Anenome' and I was Flava Flav!

What's in your essential festival kit?
A couple of years ago my essential kit was replaced by a camper van! Other than that, wet wipes, Wellington boots, waterproofs, sunscreen and a cool hat.

If you could organise your own festival, what would it be like?
Some friends and I are actually on our fourth year of organising a private mini festival for my mate's birthday. It involves plenty of bunting, fake tattoos and moustaches, a vinyl-themed installation, horrible Somerset cider and great music!

Any festival regrets?
Buying the cheapest tent possible and finding a label on it when I opened it to put it up that read ‘not for outdoor use'!

Andy, 37, A & R Man and DJ from London, England.
Likes: All kinds of music except Jazz and Opera.
Festival CV: Glastonbury and Bestival.

What festivals will you be heading to this year and why?
Hop Farm in Kent because of the great line-up including Bob Dylan, Mumford & Sons and I'm toying with the idea of Glastonbury again too.

What would Glastonbury be without mud?
Heaven. '94 and '96 were both gloriously hot and sunny and probably the best festival experiences I've ever had.

What three artists are on your must-see list for 2010?
Bob Dylan, Leftfield and Orbital.

Club of festival?
Both! They have completely different vibes and I really enjoy each of them. Although, if I had a gun to my head, I'd probably choose festivals as their freedom and sense of community is hard to beat.

Describe your festival get-up.
Combat trousers that unzip into shorts, a long-sleeve button front shirt, a panama hat and my Drizabone coat in case it rains.

What do you love most about festivals?
The sense of freedom and community, and the ability to completely forget the real world for four days.

Sleep or party ‘till dawn?
Sleep? What's that?

What would you do if your tent was nicked?
Try very hard to pull!!
