Throwing a turntable into the domination of rhythm-based video games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, the arrival of Activision’s DJ Hero title last year caused a stir amongst dance fans and gamers keen to become bedroom superstars. One year on and we’ve already received word that a sequel to DJ Hero, yep that’d be DJ Hero 2 is on the way, and now we know which artists fans will be mixing and mashing up when the game finally arrives.
As previously reported by ITM, the DJ Hero crew promised to make the sequel even bigger than the original, starting with a hook-up with Gossip Girl’s favourite clubber Deadmau5. Following up from the mau5-headed one, the DJ Hero developers have loaded the sequel with a staggering list of names, ranging from dance legends like Daft Punk, Tiesto, DJ Shadow, The Prodigy Armand Van Helden and Orbital, to chart-pop regulars Rihanna, Lil Wayne and Timbaland to some WTF choices that we don’t know how anyone will mix like Sam Cooke. All in all there’s music from 108 different artists featured in the game, so that ought to keep us occupied for some sleepless nights when DJ Hero 2 launches in October.
