Tiesto Club Life Volume Two Miami antifmradio

Having previously worked with artists as diverse as Pendulum and Nelly Furtado – both acts both completely different in their own rights – it was to be expected that Tiesto's latest album would be an eclectic experience. A proper club-land DJ, Tiesto appears to be offering the listeners of this album an extended version of one of his DJ sets for them to take home. If this were played in a club, no one would be any the wiser.

The album's opening tunes create a massive build up made of consistent beats and one great thing about this album is the way Tiesto incorporated some very current chart songs into the mix. Gotye ft. Kimba 'Somebody That I Used To Know' - a big favourite – features half way through the album, and potentially, the dance sounds gave it a really creative, more happier vibe rather than the original. Coldplay’s 'Paradise' follows this, and while it was great to hear another familiar song, it seemed the beat hadn’t changed to accommodate this new record.

Raining glow sticks at Swedish House Mafia antifmradio

Voice lost, check. Can't feel my feet, check. This Cochella virgin's first night at the arts and music festival was epic to say the least.

Did I make classic newbie mistakes? Without a doubt. After pool party'ing all day at the Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs, we didn't eat dinner before catching the shuttle to the Polo Fields. Let's just say, the greasy, sweaty beer garden pizza line doesn't make for the best first fest impression. Once rescued by overpriced pepperoni, the evening could officially begin.

The highlight of night one for me, by far, was Swedish House Mafia's performance on the Main Stage. Sebastian Igrosso, Steve Angello and Axwell spun their smash hits for an undulating crowd of screaming fans, jumping high, hands in the air, with nothing but smiles for endless rows.

Sonos has kicked off a new campaign – ‘Listening is Back – that captures iconic musicians and their Sonos listening moments, beginning with Toronto-based progressive- and electro-house producer deadmau5.

“From day one, our mission has been to make listening to music at home amazing again,” says Sonos, which makes wireless home audio systems. “Music doesn’t have to be tucked away in headphones or just background to other activity; it can be savored in your space as the integral moment.”

Deadmau5 Trolled During Live Stream

Deadmau5 was trolled by his fans today when he decided to hold an impromptu live stream where he answered questions from fans on his Twitter page. Fans sent him a fake link to the ECD Vegas Festival asking why he was on the lineup on the 8th of June and if he was confirmed to play. Deadmau5 then looked up his calendar and saw he was scheduled to be in Ireland on the 7th and Scotland on the 9th. He then tried to call his manager to find out what was going on before realising the lineup he had been sent was fake.

David Guetta brings a rousing set to Ultra Music Festival

MIAMI — Trance and electro house music reigned supreme at the final day of Ultra Music Festival, closing out the annual three-day dance music mega-fest that saw more than 200,000 people walk through the gates at Miami's Bayfront Park.

Sunday, Carl Cox handed over the Cocoon's "mega-structure" stage to Dutch trance-music icon Armin van Buuren, who continued his globe-spanning celebration of the 550th episode of his "A State of Trance" radio show, streaming epic, dazzling sets of some of his larger-than-life trance-music friends. Gareth Emery, ATB, Ferry Corsten, Tritonal, and Sander van Doorn were but some of the big stars who had fans packing Cocoon right up to the stage's back gates.

Earlier in the day, 2012 MTV Woodies closing act Steve Aoki set the Ultra Main Stage ablaze with his driving electro-metal house show, and a few of his recent Wonderland album collaborators helped him celebrate the occasion. Lil Jon launched the set into overdrive early, joining Aoki for "Turbulence" and more, and singers Polina, and Alyssa Palmer all hit the stage to perform alongside Aoki. Before ending his set with an inflatable boat ride across a sea of tens of thousands of fans, as he traditionally does, Aoki caked two lucky fans in the front row of the audience — with dexterity, we'd like to add, right in the face from more than seemingly 15 feet away.

Tresor documentary, SubBerlin

A film chronicling the groundbreaking Berlin club's history will be released on DVD in April.
Tresor have announced plans to release the 2008 documentary SubBerlin: The Story of Tresor on DVD for the first time.

The original Tresor was in many ways the quintessential Berlin club: located in an unrenovated vault beneath a bombed out department store, it opened its doors amidst the general confusion and ecstasy that swept across the city when the wall fell. Its low ceilings, industrial decor and generally unhinged atmosphere created an unprecedented platform not only for techno in Berlin, but also for the scene taking shape across the Atlantic in Detroit. It quickly became a second home for artists like Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills and Blake Baxter, as well as countless German DJs.

Directed by Tilmann Künzel, SubBerlin traces the club's history from its beginning in the early '90s to the closure of its original location in 2005. It includes interviews with many of the artists that played at the venue, from Atkins to Sven Vath, as well as the people that made the club happen, such as original founder Dimitri Hegemann. Originally aired on television in 2008, it will now be released on DVD (with subtitles) for the first time, complete with a CD companion. That's the official trailer below.
